FIXBY GOLD is a beautiful golden ale with a distinctive hop and grain character. It works well as a draught ale but is even better when bottled and allowed to age for at least 2 months.
Muntons brewer’s yeast has been a popular favourite for many years amongst the homebrew community worldwide, gaining an enviable reputation for its consistent healthy performance, its hardy nature and its clean finish. Muntons brewer’s yeast is a dried brewer’s yeast that produces a powdery flocculation with an apparent attenuation of 70%. Ideal fermentation temperature is between 64° – 70°F to produce an alcohol tolerance of 8% ABV. It provides low ester formation but with relatively high residual sugar giving good body and mouth feel.
This yeast has excellent crusting characteristics forming a firm ‘jelly like’ deposit at the bottom of the Fermenter and bottle or barrel. Flavour profile is excellent and the yeast has the ability to drop out of suspension very rapidly.
And now for a medium dry red. Same 30 bottles, same seven days, same 3 kgs of sugar. Not much more to say really, except that like all the others, it’s enjoyably drinkable.
