Filtabrite are fine grade pads in a pack of 5, offering excellent value. They are specifically designed to filter wines slowly, maximising the time that wine is in contact with the pad. The longer wait will be rewarded with the highest clarity in your finished wines. They are part of a system of pads that are available for the Vinbrite Filter, and are particularly effective when filtering pre-fined wines.
The performance of the pad can be improved by first passing your wine through the coarse grade Prime Pad. This will improve flow rates and extend the life of the Filtabrite Pad.
These pads must be fitted with the smoother patterned side facing the locking ring (rougher crater looking side facing inside the Filter Body). As this pad is thicker, there is no need to fit the Support Disc but do ensure that the Locking Ring is fully tightened against the pad using a Vinbrite spanner.
Prime Pads are in a pack of 5 and are a coarse grade pre-treatment pad and are part of a system of pads that are available for the Vinbrite Filter. They will enhance the overall performance of your Filter by removing larger solids and colloidal particles that may block finer filter pads. You may not notice significant differences in the clarity of your wine after passing through the Prime Pad, but the subsequent flow rate and performance of Filtabrite or Crystalbrite Pads will be improved.
Prime Pads can also be used to filter a spirit wash prior to distillation. This will ensure a cleaner wash and reduce flavours carried over from the distillation process.
Harris vin papers wine filter papers fit the harris Vinbrite filter kit. The vin paper wine filter papers come in a pack of 50. They are 15cm in diameter and are ideal for removing heavy sediment from many liquids not just wine, but can filter cider and beer too.
The 3 Stages of Complete Wine Filtration to choose from for use with the Buon Vino Mini Jet Filter;
The #1 pads are Coarse Pads. They remove large particulate in a heavy wine, typically those heavy reds.
The #2 Pads are Polishing Pads and they remove medium to small particulate in your wine and add the shine to your wine.
The #3 pads are Sterile Pads – very tight pads that remove very small particulate in your wine.
We strongly recommend that you filter with the #2 pad first before filtering with the # 3 pads.
Why Use Genuine Buon Vino Filter Pads?
All Buon Vino wine filters have been designed to use GENUINE Buon Vino Filter Pads. Filter Pads are not all the same. They may be rated with specific micron sizes but they also must correspond to Flow Rate and Pressure applied to them by the pump. Buon Vino Filter Pads are a commercial grade quality filter and are specific to the Flow Rates and Pressures applied by the pump on the Buon Vino Filter Machines, providing you with the best filtration possible.
Do Not Mix Filter Pad Types
All Filter Pads inserted into the Buon Vino Filter Machine MUST be of the same grade.
For effective filtering, you cannot mix grades. Wine has different sizes of suspended particulate and will vary greatly depending on the type of wine produced. Buon Vino provides 3 grades of pads to remove specific micron-sized particulate corresponding to the need.
